Publisher's Summary

Read by Diane Morgan as Philomena Cunk, the star of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe and Cunk on Britain.

Once in a blue moon, a book comes along that changes the world. The Origin of Species. War and Peace. 1984. The World According to Danny Dyer. And now, Cunk on Everything: The Encyclopedia Philomena, by Philomena Cunk.

Philomena Cunk is one of the greatest thinkers of the 21st century, and in Cunk on Everything she turns her attention to our biggest issue: why are there so many books?

Wouldn't it be better if there was just one? This is that book - an encyclopedia of ALL HUMAN KNOWLEDGE, from sausages to Henry of Eight to Brush Strokes to vegetarian sausages.

Listen to it, and you'll never have to read another book again.

Hilarious

Enjoyed every minute of this book. Will listen to it again. Witty, entertaining, somewhat factually accurate, in parts. Mostly delightful and really enjoyable. It's a weird alphabetical record of stuff and things.

Slapstick jaunt through the alphabet & history.

Philomena Cunk, with her deadpan narrating style will take you on an alphabetic jaunt through the real, imagined and animated all balled togerher as though they were factual history. I found myself laughing out loud on so many occassions throughout this very cleverly compiled tome.

If you want a break from the everyday churnalism and fear mongering of the media and social media for that matter - give this a listen. It is truly enjoyable.

laugh out loud funny, she's brilliant

buy this audiobook, it's relentless, ludicrous and consistently funny. Morgan has real talent. This has an enchanting narration and it's really clever.

not recommended for listening on public transport

Hilarious from start to finish There could only ever have been one narrator.Brilliant, just bloody brilliant! No one has ever made a tedious day of leaf blowing or mundane chores brighter. Although I'm sure my neighbours now think I'm quite mad. Fine one second and crying laughing the next.

Love it

I like how the charector of Philomena offers a entertaining twist to history. The voice itches my brain in the right way so I listen to this on repeat when I sleep and I am not bored as it’s comedic and I actually feel like I’m learning.

Good fun and lots of laugh out loud moments

It’s cleverer than you think; and you probably think that you’re really rather clever. But Cunk will disavow you of that notion. She’s kind of like Anne of Clever, in her own special way. Because although Anne of Clever became famous for being the 8th Henry’s eighth wife or something, Cunk became famous by knowing everything about everything; just being the cleverest of all.

Humorous Podcast In Dictionary Form

Great for putting on in the background while doing another task. I think people who enjoy casually listening to podcasts will like this. I loved the obviously stupid yet dry sense of humour, love this bit Cunk’s got going on.

this is the stuff.

so So SO funny. and it's True, often because of the ACTUAL facts threaded in, Laugh-so -you -don't-cry jokes, Within LOL Joviality , it is also a deeply Humanist compact history of humanity - art & science & magic & LOL
I think would be an easy & therapeutic holiday read for all the secret santas. ✨

💡 my other best bit about this particular audio book is the words and how they sound. because of that 💜. I can hear the. subtext of deeply managed fury and disgust at the whole disturbing mess. like it's so powerful to me. ( the Welshish/ northern Ingles-ish) like how Philomena says things I don't catch the first time , only very Rarely - that sounds well Welshish in my mind's ears). but then I listen Properly and understand the accent . and I love that so much🥰 ✨🙏🐝🤟 it's almost like travelling. to a faraway myschtickal land of yore 🤟
