About this listen
Killashandra, one of the most gifted singers on Ballybran, is drawn like a magnet to the song of crystal. In order to work with crystal, singers are infected with a symbiotic life form that heals them and gives them near eternal life—but slowly destroys their memories. Since crystal singing brings Killashandra ecstasy, she doesn't mind the initial small annoyances of memory loss. What she hadn't counted on was the loneliness she felt when her heart still remembered what her mind had forgotten—the names of her friends and lovers. Can the crystal that destroyed her memory somehow restore it? By reclaiming her unpleasant past, can Killashandra step forward into the future?

missing so much of the story
hated how it skipped so many sections, making the story disjointed.
Anne McCaffrey would have been disappointed at the result

Narration disappointing.
Sound quality of narration sounds like it was read from a phone recording. But, worth a listen to complete the trilogy.

Good story, shame about the sound
This is a great story, and a fitting end to the Crystal Singer series BUT I do not see why it should have been so mutilated by being abridged. It isn't even a long story. The narrator was adequate. The sound quality was abysmal. It sounded like a radio play from the dawn of wireless, or like someone speaking into their phone's recording app while sitting in an empty garage. This audiobook was very disappointing, and frankly, overpriced, especially if you bought it because you know and love the book.

Anne McCaffrey, the perfect escape
Anne McCaffrey created the perfect escapes in her books.
"The Crystal Singer" was one of a very few books taken into space on a shuttle.
"Crystal Line" wraps up the trilogy perfectly.

This is abridged!
I adore these stories but I’m disappointed that they are abridged. So much of the fabulous stories are missing.

Audio issues
The audio quality was dreadful and in some places almost unintelligible. It’s a shame as the story is good.
