About this listen
My closest friend has lost his mind. He killed my father, took over my kingdom, and despite the blood that now stains his hands, claims that we’re fated to be together.
My salvation comes from the most unlikely of sources.
To reclaim my throne, I’ll have to rely on the one man I’ve hated my entire life for survival.
Solomon Winett is the noble descendant of barbarian warriors and the bane of my existence. He’s obnoxious, stubborn, and the only one who rescued me from a fate worse than death.
I just need to remember one thing: once the line between hatred and passion has been crossed, there's no going back.

Pleasantly Surprised
I was pleasantly surprised by this book! Without any expectations, it managed to check all the boxes, with both narrators doing an excellent job. My only critique would be that it dragged a bit in certain places, and the internal monologue of the male main character felt repetitive. However, overall, it was an easy and enjoyable read

Surprised by how I was hooked by the story!
The writing is to descriptive, the story is a familiar one! But… this story hooked me… so much I was looking for the second book! I need to know what happens next!
Pleasantly listened to as the story feels familiar and yet different!
Would listen again!

Tropey, predictable and a total bore!
I love the body guard trope as much as the next red blooded gal but this was a DNF for me. The writing is very reminiscent of a surface level first draft and the characters are what I can only describe as cliched bores. However, this book committed the one book sin I cannot forgive - an annoying fmc.
Also the guy that reads for the love interest sounds about 65 and it was not doing the lacklustre plot any favours.
