About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Written by number one New York Times best-selling author Marieke Nijkamp, Critical Role: Vox Machina - Kith & Kin follows a brand-new story, featuring the cunning ranger Vex'ahlia and the conning rogue Vax'ildan (and, of course, Trinket) years before they meet Vox Machina.

After leaving the unwelcoming refuge of Syngorn, the twins become entangled in a web spun by the Clasp, and for the first time Vex and Vax find themselves on opposite sides of a conflict that threatens the home they have carried with each other for years.

It pulls you right in

As the plot moved forward, I found myself getting worked up over decisions the characters made, over how things seemed to progress. And I realized that for the first time in ages, I was feeling invested in the story, in the stakes, and the lives of these fictional protagonists. Definitely recommend for newcomers and Critical Role fans alike!

An enthralling tale

This story was a great tale of family and intrigue. Well read by Robbie Daymond. Knowledge of the future canon “Critical Role” happenings are not needed to enjoy this tale of faith, hope and family. Highly recommend

Excellent Narration

A fun book regardless of whether or not you are familiar with Critical Role. Robbie Daymond's narration was excellent and I hope he does more audio books with Critical Role.

Pretty good

I liked this quite a lot! I didn’t expect the romance flourishing between Vax and Thorn but it was cute!

Perfect

I love CR and loved this prequel to the twins story.
Robbie Daymond is an amazing narrator and having Liam and Laura reprise their roles as Vex and Vax is definitely the cherry on top

Amazing

Huge fan of critical roles work and this does not disappoint in the slightest, having Liam and Laura voice their characters was just an extra treat.

Kith and Kin

It's a delightful delve into more of Vex and Vax's backstory while also giving some great grey areas of mystery

A beautiful introduction to the twins

A beautiful introduction to Vex and Vax. I hope we get to hear some more prequel stories for all of VM.
