Publisher's Summary
Despite three simultaneous crises in the world today - a crisis in energy, economy, and climate - biologist Elisabet Sahtouris is optimistic about the future, and points to biology and the model of evolution moving toward cooperation and co-creation.
In this interview, she describes the cyclical maturation process in nature, including why diversity is an imperative in nature and in human culture. She explains why it is important to know the basic assumptions as represented by different scientists from a variety of cultures, and the difference between the new consciousness science and materialist science.
Along the way, Elisabeth helps us understand why debt money is not sustainable, and how we can reverse the desertification of the planet.
Elisabet Sahtouris, Ph.D., is an internationally acclaimed evolution biologist, futurist and author. Her books include Earth Dance: Living Systems in Evolution ( iUniverse 2000), A Walk Through Time: From Stardust to Us (John Wiley & Sons 1998) (co-authored with Brian Swimme & Sidney Liebes), and Biology Revisioned (North Atlantic Books 1998) (co-authored with the late Willis Harman).
