About this listen
Following their military defeat in the Battle of Taiwan, China opens a new front in the struggle for geopolitical supremacy.
As China's Belt and Road Initiative brings together the final pieces of a 1000-mile rail and road connection between China and Tehran, a series of terrorist attacks rock the fractious states of Central Asia. A declining Russia, an isolated India, and a rising Iran all have a stake in the region.
But who is behind the mysterious attacks?
President Serrano, in the midst of another election cycle, just wants the problem to disappear. He puts his trust in Don Riley, the newly appointed CIA Deputy Director of Operations, to deal with the situation.
Quietly.
As tensions escalate, Don leads a covert action to protect America’s interests in the region and blunt the Chinese economic juggernaut. What he discovers threatens to drag the United States into another international conflict.
Covert Action is a high-stakes military thriller from the minds of former submarine officer David Bruns and retired naval intelligence officer J.R. Olson. Packed with propulsive action and pulse-pounding intrigue, this explosive and timely thriller is a must-hear for fans of Tom Clancy and Mark Greaney.

Outstanding plot
I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in this Ebook, constantly intrigued by uncovering the identities of the antagonists. I eagerly anticipate the next installment under the new President's administration and am curious about the unique project Harrison will embark on. It's satisfying to see Don Riley's well-deserved promotion, considering his pivotal roles in your recent novels. Kudos to the narrator for skillfully breathing life into the characters.
Congratulations again to both authors from one of your Australia fans

A Disappointing Turn in an Otherwise Great Series
The fifth instalment of this series, unfortunately, marks a decline in what was once a line of great books. At times, the story felt tedious, with the authors focusing excessively on building the narrative rather than telling it. A prime example of this is General Gou, whose portrayal as a greedy and foolish character seemed disappointingly clichéd and predictable.
Despite these shortcomings, the ending offered some redemption. However, it took six hours of slow-paced reading to reach that point.
Nevertheless, I remain committed to the series, as I generally enjoy these stories and believe the authors are usually fantastic storytellers.
