About this listen
"I love you, Max Butcher."
Those words are dangerous. Just about as dangerous as the world I was born into. As dangerous as the ruthless bastards that I call family.
They hurt her. My little ballerina. My piece of purity. I wanted to keep the world beautiful for her. I failed.
So I should let her go. For her own safety and my sanity. But she crawled into my bed...and settled in my head.
Cassidy Slater.
Her sweet-talking mouth says those dangerous words. Words I didn't know that I craved. She waits for me at night. Accepts the darkness around me. Now that's not something a man just lets go of.
I'm a selfish bastard too. And she's mine.
I'll protect her; it's an eye for an eye and I'm willing to blind the whole damn lot of them. For her, I'll start a damn war.
Cosa Nostra is book two in the Kids of The District series. It features a powerful and moody hero and an endearing and determined heroine. Both main characters are possessive and fight for each other. It is a love story first, word steam second. Violence, gore, and drama third.

Max is the man
Great continuation from the first book that follows Cassidy and Max. Much grittier and the dual vocals compliment the story. 10 out of 10.

Epic❤️📖for the ages:Ballerina Girl&TheButcherBoy
Our Thing & Cosa Nostra Duet is a Grumpy Sunshine Australian Mafia Romance that took my heart on this deliciously suspenseful and steamy journey of the epic love story that is the Sweet Ballerina Girl and her Butcher Boy Menace and hooked me on from beginning to end and I just could not get enough!
Max Butcher and Cassidy Slater’s pulse-pounding and heart racing love story features:
❤️Sweet ballerina heroine
❤️Mafia Heir
❤️Sweet & Spicy
❤️Man of few words
❤️Only has a smile for her
❤️ Disrespect her and die
❤️ He enjoys EVERY part of her
❤️He calls her little one
❤️She's a good girl with the whole world at her feet.
❤️He's a bad boy with his foot on the world.
From the very first Chapter, I absolutely loved Cassidy: her sweet and selfless nature.
I loved her relationship with her sister, and especially her best mate Tony: Oh my giddy Aunt: Tony had the best lines and banter I really loved their friendship.
These 2 are total opposites Cassidy the sweet, petite Ballerina and Max the tough possessive Alpha Mafia Heir. Their worlds are poles apart, but the more they fall for one another, the more Cassidy gets pulled into Max’s world. The more Max tries to protect Cassidy from being pulled deeper in his
world, the more she pushes back.
Oh Max, (in a Cassidy voice), the tough mafia heir, who was born into a life he didn’t choose, growing up in the face of brutality, learning and experiencing first hand, from a very young age the darkness and evil that lurks in humanity.
The playboy, never looking to settle, who met his match in Cassidy: who melted his heart and in doing so, Max melted mine into a puddle…he’s such a swoonfest with her, so possessive and all consuming, which is how I would describe this duet: This story will reach into your chest and rip out your heart, but Nicci will delicately stitch it back together, owning a piece of your heart forever.
Max totally broke me though: in the best way: his all-consuming love for Cassidy: chapter 34 of Cosa Nostra absolutely destroyed me…and like Cassidy: I love Max Butcher: Menace.
Nicci gave us an epic love story full of passion, and super steamy, spicy but not without the angst: it seems like many of my unicorn authors, Nicci likes to torture you, in the best way: she’s given us this gritty Australian Mafia Romance that is so dark and delicious that you never want to leave.
Cassidy and Max’s journey to HEA was full of emotion, steam and spicy and had me reaching for the fan and blushing! Take note tho: this is a gritty dark romance, so check your triggers.
Georgia Hart and Rupert Channing narrate this audiobook and I really enjoyed their performances and were fantastic in bringing the Ballerina and the Butcher Boy to life!
Georgia’s portrayal of Cassidy was kind, pure, driven and determined to get her man and I fell hard for her sweet and gentle disposition.
Rupert really turned up the grumpy and bossy in his performance and really showcased Max’s possessive and protective side so perfectly in this performance. But Georgia’s Cassidy wasn’t having any of that, she portrayed Cassidy’s determination to stand with Max and be part of his world and I couldn’t help but fall hard for her feistiness wrapped in her sunshine persona. Both narrators really turned up the intensity in their performance and Max & Cassidy’s chemistry: oooft!
I loved this duet: If you’re a fan of a Hot Australian Dark Mafia Romance with a Grumpy possessive Mafia heir with a penchant for sweet Sunshine Ballerina’s, then you will love this Duet! This is a deliciously dark and emotional story from an absolute genius author, performed by wonderful voice actors: All the menacing & giddy stars!

Wow
My gosh did not see that curve ball coming. Had so many scenarios going through my head as to how the story would go. So glad it went the way it did. A great read. Enjoying this series.
