About this listen

A patient-oriented manual for complex trauma survivors.

This training manual for patients who have a trauma-related dissociative disorder includes short educational pieces, homework sheets, and exercises that address ways in which dissociation interferes with essential emotional and life skills, and support inner communication and collaboration with dissociative parts of the personality.

Topics include understanding dissociation and PTSD, using inner reflection, emotion regulation, coping with dissociative problems related to triggers and traumatic memories, resolving sleep problems related to dissociation, coping with relational difficulties, and help with many other difficulties with daily life. The manual can be used in individual therapy or structured groups.

Can't enjoy the audiobook

Because the reader's tone is so clinical and monotonous it makes me so bored and sleepy.

Review Coping with Trauma DID

the narrator had great diction and tone with gr8 pacing
The book content was valuable as a therapy book, giving a gr8 balance between information, strategies, and relevant doable exercises. it is easy to listen to and understandable.
I would recommend the book for either the therapist or client working with Trauma, using IFS and or parts therapy.

Trauma related dissociation

Great overview and useful practical strategies which, even without the full complement of program, can be used in daily life. Critical piece of work. Thank you to the Authors.

What is wrong with the narrator’s voice?

This book actually sounds like it is being narrated by a computer program rather than a human being... the cadence of her speech is jerky, disjointed, and jarring. There is no natural speech rhythm or flow, it sounds like a machine has learned how to speak. It makes it impossible to listen properly and absorb what is being said as this inhuman voice is impossible to process auditory information naturally. Why on earth would they have this person narrate an audiobook??? It seems like a sick joke.
