Winter in Tiverton.
Constable Paul Hirschhausen has a snowdropper on his patch. Someone is stealing women’s underwear and Hirsch knows enough about that kind of crime - how it can escalate - not to take it lightly.
But the more immediate concerns are a call from the high school, a teacher worried about a student who may be in danger at home. Another call, a different school: a man enraged about the principal’s treatment of his daughter.
A little girl in harm’s way and an elderly woman in danger. An absent father who isn’t where he’s supposed to be, another who flees to the back country armed with a rifle. Families under pressure. And the cold, seeping feeling that something is very, very wrong.

Excellent read
Great characters and story. Excellent series and can't wait for the next one. Really pleased i have discovered Garry Disher!

Just a bloody good book
A bloody good story, it doesn't over promise so it delivers in spades. If you're looking for some hugely epic story line that has intense mysteries then perhaps this isn't your book. It is a story about a small town cop, dealing with small town things, although they do seem to be a little outrageous and frequent compared to reality. That's what makes it good fiction though. As always, very well read by Steve

Good but not great
Storyline was good but a bit slow to peak and even then the peak wasn't that high.
Narrator was very good with just enough Aussie drawl. Overall I enjoyed it but can't really say I was hanging on every word.

Another good story
H is developing into a very likeable character and we are getting to know the locals and the area. Narration is first class and the stories are well told with good colour. Looking forward to the next edition.

Another good read
I enjoyed all three of these books.
I hope there is more.
Paul, the rural cop is genuine, despite his past, and works well in this rural setting with little reward or recognition from his superiors. Is there no forgiveness?
His community, on the whole, appreciate him. There is always people who think you never do enough in your job, no matter what, and this makes the series so believable.
Garry Disher writes so you believe you are on the journey with the story.

Great story
As usual, the author provided lots of twists and turns in this story! He’s fast becoming one of my favourites! The book was well read and was easy listening! Perfect for holiday listening!

Another great read by Garry
As soon as I found out there was a series I spent all my credits and bought up the entire 4 books.
So happy I did too. Bloody good storyline as usual.
