About this listen

When recovering drug addict Lyle Pickering is found dead of an overdose, it looks like a tragic accident. But his sister Rochelle knows better, and so does Lieutenant Eve Dallas. Lyle was murdered, and the evidence points directly to his old street gang.

As Eve and husband Roarke track the killer through the city's dive bars, drug dens and strip joints, another body is discovered. With connections growing between the living and the dead, and the body count on the rise, Eve knows she needs to close this case fast, before the killer's lust for power turns the city's streets into a bloodbath.

The narrator let this book down terribly

This was my first JD Robb read and I have to say the story was good, but the street slang was trying to be gangster itself, and it just made the book boring and predictable, the narrator absolutely destroyed this book, I actually left is playing all night in the lounge to try and get to the end of the book, Honestly one of the worst I have ever endured.

The main female character was portrayed as a die hard cop and didn't leave much to the imagination of how butch she is and liked to grot it out with the best.
Really trashy and this was disappointing, her character in the book was strong enough and the narrator made her sound like a dumb muscle strong character and in the right hands this character could shine.
Overall this book was strongly let down by predictability and the narrator.

Connections in Death

I love love love this series. I have re-read the complete series three times now. Susan Ericksen is the best there is and combined with J.D. Robb you can't lose. Look forward to the next one.

Could not finish it

Maybe needed to start this series at the beginning. Maybe I'm not into the American narrators. Either way, I couldn't finish this book.

Terrible Narration

I barely got through the 1st chapter. The narration is terrible, I thought I could get used to her voice but there is no way unfortunately. i am returning this book.

Just boring

Takes way too long to get to the actual story. First part is unnecessary in the amount of detail.

Terrible Ericksen Narration again

I am sorry but this Narrator just does not do it for me and I will not purchase another JD book until they replace her. Her below average narration ruins the book and storyline. I am afraid I will have to get the paper version.

Terrible Narration

I found the story line captivating, otherwise I would have given up listening.
The narration was awful. Very difficult to listen to. Her accents were woeful.
I won't be purchasing any more books performed by Susan Erickson.

Too much fluff

This book has got to be the worst one in the series. The rudely spoken Eve appeared a few times, as did the adoring, mothering, soppy Roarke! I almost returned the book.
I would love to go through the series again however, I don’t think I could tolerate the over the top arrogance of Eve.
In saying that, the writer is very good, the storylines are great, just getting a little shorter and the fluff is getting longer.
