About this listen

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends With Us, a novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.

At age twenty-one, Auburn Reed has already lost everything important to her. In her fight to rebuild her shattered life, she has her goals in sight and there is no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a chance and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is keeping a major secret from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

To save their relationship, all Owen needs to do is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin.

I confess Im a lover of Colleen Hoovers works

If you could sum up Confess in three words, what would they be?

OMG - 3 words and they will mean more to you when you read the book.

What did you like best about this story?

Its originality, strength of story, delivery of characters, depth and development of characters.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York – was your favourite?

All characters and have an absolute soft stop for the room mate.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes - had a serious talk with myself about being a responsible person and having to go to bed instead of finishing it.

Any additional comments?

I read 200 - 300 books a year and as such need to find value and fulfilment in what I purchase. You don't buy a Colleen Hoover book you INVEST. Just thank you thank you and thank you.

Slower than other Hoover books

It was an entertaining read but I felt it was a bit slow at times and the characters weren’t as interesting as her other books. I found the female voice/accent/pitch a bit harder to listen to than the male voice though it could have been because of the character.

It's honestly great but...

I find it hard to listen to, I liked reading the book a lot more, I feel like the voices didn't match the characters as much as I would like them too..WELL WHO AM I TO JUDGE I'm just being petty 🚶‍♀️

one of colleens best

I have recently discovered Colleen Hoover and have binge listened to about 10 of her stories. They are all really great but something about this one I particularly loved. It has a bit of everything in it, the normal intense romance between well developed characters, but this has a little more suspense than her others which I really enjoyed. highly recommend.. It's right up there with "It ends with us".

not better

unfortunately I had just finished reading "reminders of him" and some of the themes clashed between the two. it's only the second Golden Hoover novel and I'm hesitant for a third now due to the stories similarities

Excellent: twisting plots

Recently started reading Hoovers books, they are addictive. This book had all the drama but none of the predictability a lot of similar stories have. At first I thought Owen was a creep and I felt so much sadness for the main character and her situation, everything comes to light and is so nicely resolved. This story will have you on edge :)
