First class petty officer Eric Randall is less than thrilled about taking orders to Okinawa. Three long, lonely years on a crappy island that's thousands of miles from his daughter? Oh. Yeah. What starts as a one night stand leaves both of them wanting more, but then Eric finds out Shane doesn't just outrank him, he's an officer. DADT may be repealed, but an enlisted man getting involved with an officer falls under conduct unbecoming a gentleman and could cost both men their careers. They both have kids to take care of, future civilian careers to consider, and retirements on the line.
Still, they can't resist each other. They discreetly spend nights together, and their mutual desire to explore the beautiful island of Okinawa is a perfect excuse to spend days together. As long as no one asks and they don't tell, there's no reason anyone has to find out.

Shane & Eric.
Great characters , great description of Okinawa .
I could easily understand the difficulty they had loving each other in the military…

A really great listen!
While I loved this story and it's told so very well, I am so saddened that the characters had to hide their relationship nearly the entire book - only due to policy of the armed forces.
The storyline, characters and narration are all brilliant and I really enjoyed their journey. The chemistry between Eric and Shane is sizzling hot and undeniable. A really great read/listen.

Love letter to Okinawa!
This was a beautiful love story in a stunning part of the world. I throughly enjoyed their explorations of the the island and their growing relationship.
Low angst but it was enough to know they were breaking rules to be together and interesting for anyone who likes a military type read

Excellent
I love this story, have read it more than once but the audio has given it more meaning for me. The narrator is excellent and really brought the story to life.
