About this listen
Come Sundown named as one of Whoopi Goldberg's "Favorite Summer Reads" on ABC's The View and one of NY Post's biggest blockbuster "Whizbang Books" of the summer.
A novel of suspense, family ties, and twisted passions from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Obsession...
The Bodine ranch and resort in western Montana is a family business, an idyllic spot for vacationers. A little over thirty thousand acres and home to four generations, it’s kept running by Bodine Longbow with the help of a large staff, including new hire Callen Skinner. There was another member of the family once: Bodine’s aunt, Alice, who ran off before Bodine was born. She never returned, and the Longbows don’t talk about her much. The younger ones, who never met her, quietly presume she’s dead. But she isn’t. She is not far away, part of a new family, one she never chose - and her mind has been shattered...
When a bartender leaves the resort late one night, and Bo and Cal discover her battered body in the snow, it’s the first sign that danger lurks in the mountains that surround them. The police suspect Cal, but Bo finds herself trusting him - and turning to him as another woman is murdered and the Longbows are stunned by Alice’s sudden reappearance. The twisted story she has to tell about the past - and the threat that follows in her wake - will test the bonds of this strong family, and thrust Bodine into a darkness she could never have imagined.

Gripping and wonderfully narrated
I have been binge-listening to Nora Roberts’ stories over the past few months. This one is exceptional. Darker, at times, than others, but still overflowing with the excellent, detailed story telling, and heart warming romance we’ve come to know and love from Nora. The narration from Elisabeth Rodgers is superb! (Which I should have mentioned first, as we all know how a bad narration can ruin the best writing). Highly recommended!

A teAsonable story ruined by very contrived ending
The story was fair but ruined by very contrived situations to make the story flow. The ending was extremely contrived and formulaic The apologies was quite good and really should nave been the real last chapter

Didn’t want it to end
Such a beautifully written book, with incredible attention to detail. Took me a few chapters to get into it but then BAM I was hooked! My emotions went on a rollercoaster, from intense joy to total despair. I felt like I was part of this family and came to know the characters so well. Was really sad to have to part with them.
I do feel the need to share a trigger warning for mental and physical abuse. Nora Roberts handled them well, but the emotions may spike if you have experienced trauma in this area.
I wish someone would turn all of Nora Roberts’ books into movies so I can spend time with the characters again.

I enjoyed this ride
Characters were engaging and the crime thriller thread was a good counterpoint to the cowboy romance.
