Publisher's Summary
I shouldn't have remembered him. He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn't know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all. But I could feel him. The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated. The second time was different. He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed. That was just the beginning. He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name...Cole Mauricio.

NEVER A LET DOWN
I loved this book! Compared to the other books Tijan has written, this is actually one of the more lighthearted books (compared to her other ones by Tijan, not compared to the typical genre). This has an extremely awesome romance, and I am saying awesome because while it is cute, that brings forth the kind of sunshine and rainbow theme which this does not have - therefore, it is awesome. Tijan writes amazing stories and I have yet to be disappointed with one of them. It is hard to describe the kind of genre this story is for me because while it is romance, it is also action, crime, and a few others, so this is like all the more serious genres mixed together with the addition of a bit of romance. I always say this, but that is because it is so true. I definitely don't regret reading this book and would recommend it to those that love this genre. I loved listening to this book!

Great Side Piece to Carter Reed
It's hard not to compare this book to Carter Reed series.
This book comes in along side book 2 of the Carter Reed series.
This book focus's more on her story, rather than his, and i found it a little disappointing. But as the story unravels you understand kind of why, but not really.
It's not as intense as Carter and this story shows Coles softer side, he's more emotionally in check than what Carter was,, based on the interaction between Carter and Cole. and it was nice to see that follow through into Coles story. How ever, Carter left Cole in charge of the mafia, and Cole was an animal in the final meeting with the elders, but he's now longer that person, the animal, take no prisoners person... which i cant really wrap my head around.
Great piece if you loved Carter Reed like i did. I would love another Carter Reed Story, with Both Cole and Carter, but I'm not sure how Tijan would proceed.
I say get on this book, its one of those books that any review that is written, doesn't do it justice, because it definitely one of those books that someone will love and someone will loath.

Enjoyable but not what I expected
I think I was expecting it to be a lot more like the Carter Reed books but it was very different. There wasn’t as much drama & action. The guards weren’t as big of a part as the were in Carter Reed. There just wasn’t as much Mafia related stuff happening, everything was just ‘mafia business’ that was done off script. Also the steamy scenes seemed to be cut short before they even began a lot of the time which was unlike the Carter Reed books. I liked that Cole was much like Carter in the way he loved & treated his woman, but I don’t think anything comes close to the connection between Carter & Emma!
Over all I enjoyed the love story but as a mafia romance I just felt like it didn’t really hit the mark.
I enjoyed the narrators performances.

Love after loss is hard
This was equally as enjoyable as Carter Reed but it didnt have the same angst and bloodshed. Learning to love again after losing the love of your life is hard enough, but finding out the man you gave your heart to is in the Mafia (the head of the Mafia) and then to find out you had married into their enemies family is just harder again. I was a great story and definitely worth the read/listen.

Not Tijans best
This is an ok book. The female narrator is too young for the character. But aside from that the story feels hurried just not Tijans usual romanticing etc
Still a lovely way to get a glimpse of Coles life and to hear from my fav duo, Emma and Carter!

Narrator lets the story down. Alot.
Whilst the story was good, it was made a difficult to listen to after a few chapters due to narrators pitchy, american accent. She at times overacts where not required and occasionally mispronounces words (bed-a-room?!). Male actor only makes cameo appearances.
All round disappointing, female narrator took away from the story. alot. Would buy to read rather than listen to this one!
