About this listen
DS Logan McRae and the police in Aberdeen hunt a child killer who stalks the frozen streets.
Winter in Aberdeen: murder, mayhem and terrible weather…
It’s DS Logan McRae’s first day back on the job after a year off on the sick, and it couldn’t get much worse. Three-year-old David Reid’s body is discovered in a ditch: strangled, mutilated and a long time dead. And he’s only the first. There’s a serial killer stalking the Granite City and the local media are baying for blood.
Soon the dead are piling up in the morgue almost as fast as the snow on the streets, and Logan knows time is running out. More children are going missing. More are going to die. And if Logan isn’t careful, he could end up joining them.

Wish it was longer
Went with this one as it was the only version available but I wish it was the unabridged one. Lots is story missed out and didn't get the proper character introductions or back story (I've read the book so am aware of the missing bits). Aside from that it's fun (for a police book about dead children that it) and the narrator did a great job. Stuart MacBride writes as Scottish people talk so it was great to hear it as he intended.

Abridged
Good story. 5 stars because I come from sales and know the nbrs are important.
Would be nice if the audible app showed the difference between the abridged and unabridged versions though A$14 spent on 6 hrs when it could've been double. At least now I know.
Story and narration are great. But this abridged version does leave a lot of holes.
I'm still gonna spend $14 on the next one. Unabridged though.

Dark but brilliant
The story was gripping - the characters well crafted and the the whole brilliantly narrated. Thoroughly recommend Stuart MacBride.
