About this listen
The first installment of the new McKittrick & Reeves series from Sunday Times bestselling author Karen Rose.
Colton Driscoll is a compulsive liar. But there's one thing his psychologist Sam Reeves fears he is telling the truth about: murder. Concerned his patient has committed an awful crime and that the life of another girl could be under threat, Sam calls in an anonymous tip to the San Diego Police Department.
Detective Kit McKittrick works homicide in the hope that one day she will find out what happened to her foster sister, Wren. When a tip comes in from an anonymous caller it leads her to the body of a girl whose murder has the hallmarks of a serial killer that has been at large for almost twenty years. It also leads her to the source of the information: Dr Sam Reeves.
Will Kit be able to crack the cold case in time to stop another murder being committed? And is Sam Reeves being a concerned citizen trying to help, or is there another more sinister reason he has so much information?

Awesome Read
Kept me awake till I could finish listening. My one complaint is Sam’s voice. Made him sound very ‘whiney’ and immature. But loved the characters and looking forward to the next book in the series.

Good story
I have read all of Karen’s books enjoyed them all read them all at least twice but this one…. The main characters didn’t fall in love I kept waiting for it was extremely let down, all her books they fall in love and at least one steamy scene if this is the case from now on I won’t bother I like the mix of everything her books usually have to offer from the murder, mystery and romance, the ending also kinda flat. The narrator did an awful job of Sam he sounded like a whiny teenager.

Average
Average, average average. I love Karen Rose but this..... the voice of the Dr Sam Reeves is bloody horrible, sounds like a cross between a child and woman with a goat with the flu. The most wishy washy listen, to the point i just let it run and switched of...white noise only.

Over too soon!
Fantastic story. Didn’t like the voice portrayal of Sam. For me it made him seem very young and lacking in intelligence.

Good
This is probably one of Karen Rose’s best books, mainly because her main characters didn’t fall in love and into bed within the first two paragraphs. So if that’s what you like about her books, this one may not be for you. On the other hand, if you find it annoying, this one is more appealing. The narrator is good except for Sam’s voice - he sounds like a whining teenager
