About this listen
Born in the impoverished Indian province of Bengal, Dr. Mani Bhaumik became a scientist and co-invented the laser technology that made LASIK surgery possible. Upon realizing that fame and fortune could not provide him with the abiding happiness that we all seek, Dr. Bhaumik began the search for a deeper understanding of spirituality.
Code Name God chronicles the amazing life of a man who is from both the East and the West and who finally discovers that "happiness is an inside job". This book's prologue is read by Academy Award-winning actor Sir Ben Kingsley.

Rags to riches
I enjoyed the book. Not what I expected. The contribution of his grandmother, poor towns people, his mother, father and even Mahatma Gandhi brought tears. What he did with his life after he arrived in the USA with their efforts along with his determination I was not so sure but it’s likely poorly explained- made me sad for them and for him. In his late 50’s he explained money did no longer make him happy. Meditation and awakening or revisiting his roots. The science meets spirituality was very interesting from Einstein to Primary fields and grand unified field theory that takes consciousness into consideration. No not what I expected but it did engage me and had me reflect on many things in my own life.

I was so impressed with Code Name God. What a story! What a life, and so much thought and experience leading to such rounded conclusions. Just brilliant.

Fascinating
One of the most interesting books I've ever read. Some of it anout the creation of the universe was a bit beyond me but interesting just the same.
