About this listen

You might have heard the word decluttering more and more in recent years. You've probably heard the likes of Marie Kondo, who's a proponent of getting rid of clutter and living a minimalist life, and other decluttering services that can help sort out your stuff. This is because we have come to really accumulate so much clutter in our lives. In fact, if you own a storage unit, you are adding to a $154 billion-dollar industry in the US - that is even bigger than the Hollywood film business! According to the US Department of Energy, one-quarter of people with two-car garages can't even park their car in them because of too much stuff.

The sad thing is, the reason why we have so much clutter is that we equate having loads of stuff with living worthy lives. To quote a line from the movie Fight Club: "We buy the stuff we don't need with money we don't have to impress the people we don't even like."

We focus on the quantity instead of the quality of our lives we're living in.

This audiobook will show you how you can learn to declutter your life on many levels to achieve greater success and happiness in your life. It will show you how to declutter all the excess baggage in your life. It would also teach you the importance of contentment.

Great Advice - But Not Easy To Follow

This book has some VERY valid explanations behind the clutter and some very general advice on how to address it. However, it cannot be used as a step-by-step guide. I also found the voice of the narrator a touch aggressive and quite negative. The sound is not great as it wasn’t done in a studio but on a PC or similar - so it has that “tinny” quality. Overall, I would not recommend this book to my clients - but it may be a useful source of coaching ideas for coaches.
