About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Join Kurt Austin and the NUMA crew in the thrilling new adventure continuing the best-selling series from the grand master of adventure, Clive Cussler.

A PIRATE'S HOARD. A VANISHED SHIP. A GLOBAL CATASTROPHE BECKONS....

1808, South China Sea.

The infamous Chinese Pirate Queen Ching Shih was as powerful as she was feared. When a rogue captain in her fleet dares defy her wishes, devastation awaits—and a ship full of plundered treasure sinks into history's deeps.

Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala have spent months on the trail of this legendary hoard. But their search is interrupted by a present-day threat—a freighter carrying eight of the most advanced computers ever produced has disappeared in the Western Pacific. In the hands of the enemies of the West, these could be the Information Age's most dangerous weapons.

Plunged into the middle of a cyber-war, Kurt and Joe's only allies are a group of pirates who operate under their own crude laws.

But with hackers to one side and pirates to the other, and the world's digital information at stake, the NUMA crew soon finds that knowing who to trust could be their most daunting mission yet....

Cussler formula, not too over the top, but a good adventure

Worth the listen, not as captivating as the usual Kurt and Joe adventure, but a solid and plausible story that holds up instead of the type where the stars conveniently aligned for a once a millennia occurrence the team just happened to bump into, it’s clever and realistic

Good storyline.

Another action packed story. I’m afraid I did not like the reader. His Australian accent was completely cringeworthy. Joe and Kurt sounded the same. He was very clear though.

So many storylines that are never-ending

so many stories that are never-ending, like groundhog day, but with the most miraculous escapes that are beyond belief..

on top of that, is the mindlessly excessive descriptions which is basicly talking 1000% more than needed.

It actually becomes so confused with the nonsense talking, you forget what the story is actually about and with only an hour to go in the book - it's nothing to listen to the end...!!

All because, there is no more backflips, random or unbelievable scenarios
