About this listen
World leaders have made a forceful statement that climate change is the greatest challenge facing humanity in the twenty-first century. However, little progress has been made in implementing policies to address climate change. In Climate Uncertainty and Risk, eminent climate scientist Judith Curry shows how we can break this gridlock.
This book helps us rethink the climate change problem, the risks we are facing and how we can respond to these challenges. Understanding the deep uncertainty surrounding the climate change problem helps us to better assess the risks. This book shows how uncertainty and disagreement can be part of the decision-making process. It provides a road map for formulating pragmatic solutions.
Climate Uncertainty and Risk is a must-listen for those concerned about the environment, professionals dealing with climate change, and our national leaders.

let down by tedious detail
I was looking for an audiobook that would give me insight into the climate consensus and its controversies, from the comfort of my couch. Unfortunately, this book is uncertain in its mission. Is to communicate to the laity, or is it to be a text book?
I'm a big fan of Judith Curry, and frankly there is much good material here. There's insight into the origins & limitations of climate models, the institutional groupthink & biases in the "climate community", especially the IPCC, proposals for a better way forward, the political and social imperatives at play and the biases they induce.
All good stuff. But frankly, having to labor through hours of other details made it a difficult, tedious, irritating (sorry Judith!) and ultimately a far less rewarding or fruitful journey than what it should have been. An audio 80% shorter would have been fantastic (and I suggest the same could be said for the in-print version)! If anyone ever produces that, I will buy it!
