About this listen
On the surface Elsie Jones, country music superstar, has it all. But after a brush with death she is forced to re-evaluate her life.
Events soon take her back to her home town in the wheat belt of western NSW, where she reconnects with her childhood friend Tara Green. Elsie and Tara were misfits together, eventually running away from their small town to muster cattle.
After a terrible betrayal came between them, Elsie moved on to material success but she soon realises that Tara is the one who has managed to overcome her traumatic childhood and find inner peace - lessons Elsie needs to learn.

Cringed Constantly..
As a real Jillaroo, I am well accustomed to working around faeces.. But does it have to be spoken about throughout the whole book?? I cringed everytime it was mentioned - which was a lot. A little over the top I thought which made this the only book of Rachael's which I actually dislike.
The voice actress was alright for the majority, apart from when she had to sing.

Another fantastic Rachel Treasure novel!!
A great story, relatable characters and a very forward thinking approach. I really enjoyed this book, and it is well read (and sung) 😊

A True Journey
I love all of Rachael's books but this has to be my favourite so far. The way she introduces you to the characters and then you follow them on the journey through this book makes you feel like you are right there living it with them.
I bought this book in the car to and from work but found that I couldn't stop so have listened to it at home while cooking dinner, at the gym and have even fallen asleep listen to Jennifer's smooth voice bringing this book and its characters alive!
