Publisher's Summary

Christine was eating into his mind, burrowing into his unconscious. Christine, blood red, fat, and finned, was 20. Her promise lay all in her past. Greedy and big, she was Arnie's obsession, a '58 Plymouth Fury. Broken down but not finished.

There was still power in her - a frightening power that leaked like sump oil, staining and corrupting. A malign power that corroded the mind and turned ownership into possession.

I probably shouldn’t review this

I don’t think it is possible for me to review a Stephen King book without gushing like a fan girl. With the exception of the bizarre abomination which was Tommyknockers, King can do no wrong for me and this classic is yet another example of all that is good in a horror story. The character’s are so realistic as to be as likeable and loathable as anyone you might meet in real life. I always love the psychological depth of the characters. Who else but King could write a book about a possessed car which is so believable that your heart beats faster when you go out to start up the Honda Jazz in the morning?

Best King!

In my opinion this is the best book from king. The narrator is on the money as well. The characters are well written and the story is classic King what more can I say. Read and enjoy!

Loved it! couldn't stop listening.

Loved it... great narrator and riveting story. I love Stephen King stories. The relatable characters and the clever one liners. Also in all of his books the way he describes thoughts, situations makes them so believable, even when you hope that there is no way they can be true... makes it so intriguing and exciting. Onto the next Stephen King audiobook.

Great novel, great read

Loved it, gripping King novel, even the slower ones are good but this one is a pretty great lesson in pacing for any would-be writer of genre fiction.

The greater themes are always so well fleshed out in King novels, he’s character development is fantastic as well. He deserves his popularity.

The power of Audiobooks

This is a brilliant book. However, I haven't read it on the page - only listened to it on Audible - so I'm not sure how much of that is the book and how much is the narrator. His intonation and character work is outstanding and his emphasis and emotion put into the written word has elevated this novel to art. Well worth a listen (if you can handle the bad language - but blame King for that).
