About this listen

Christina Halvorsen reluctantly inherited the 600-year-old family role of Keeper to a village of magical wood carved beings that dwell in the attic of the old family house. Believing she can care for and protect the Villagers, she also pursues a career in a prestigious marketing firm in Duluth, Minnesota. Nicholas, the leader of the Village, constantly reminds Christina that her work schedules cause her to neglect her responsibilities to them.

Christina’s world becomes in turmoil when she discovers someone viciously destroyed Nicholas. In shock as to whom would do such a violent act on the Villager’s leader, Astrid, Nicholas’ wife, informs Christina she must find another wood carver to create another Nicholas so that his spirit of the broken Nicholas can be transferred onto the new wood carving. This, while an old family nemesis seeks to destroy the Village, Christina believes her neglect weakened the magic that protects the Villagers.

On top of that, her boss, Angelica Porter, assigns an important project with unrealistic deadlines, preventing Christina from accomplishing her task of restoring Nicholas. With that, Astrid chooses a young woodcarver, a widower named Ian Thoen, to carve Nicholas while she plays matchmaker. Ian’s feisty young daughter Holly gives a hand to push the two together.

Can Christina, and her new and old friends, solve the riddle of the broken Nicholas, restore the magic, and discover the true secret of the family?
