About this listen
The war has officially ended, but the streets are still a battleground - for food, for shelter, for protection. Felix is in hiding to stay safe, but has been left holding the baby - literally. Felix vows protect the infant, just as a few incredible people saved him from the Holocaust.
This immensely affecting story will move readers of all ages and will be welcomed by the many Holocaust educators who use Once and the sequels with upper primary and lower secondary children.

The post-war adventure
Set in post-war Poland in 1946, this book has a great historic setting. Because this is one of the only books with Jewish characters set in post-war Europe, it seams silly not to give this book a high rating. The author has used high historic knowledge to create this book. Because of some of the themes used in the book we recommend that readers aged 9 - 13 have their parents tell them a bit about the horrors of the Holocaust first.

The best book ever
I loved this because it's not always happy ending and not very predictable and the narrator had very good way of telling the story. I would personally give this a five so yea

Incredible
I haven't read a Felix book since I was 13 because I thought his story was well and truly over. I was delighted to discover there were 2 more books to read. This took me back to my childhood, made me cry, made me laugh, and made me remember how profound an effect Morris Gleitzman had on me growing up.
