This is for those studying chemistry
Those that are interested in a general understanding of chemistry will find the material here going over your head. I studied chemistry in high school and this goes way beyond that. The first few chapters are great, giving history of the periodic table, and a few other information that even high schoolers will find interesting. However, when it gets to electron spins, it's more for those that are studying chemistry. It's also unfortunate that the material seems to have been recorded with video in mind. There's a PDF included but I didn't check it out, and no sign of a video. There were lab tests performed and diagrams referenced that the PDF probably wouldn't do justice to.
The narration was very pleasantly done and interesting. It wasn't boring and kept my interest, until it started going over my head. I took one star off due to the material was meant to be consumed in video form, but due to the quality of the information, I didn't penalise further. The reviewers on the US site were much harsher.

Excellent foundational course
This is a wide ranging lecture series, easy to listen to and (mostly) easy to understand. Even having done some chemistry courses, there were several new insights and the described history of discovery is fascinating.

Great Refresher
I'm studying teaching, with an Earth & environmental science major, and chemistry is part of my required course. It's also relevant to other science units and this audiobook and course guide is proving very useful in giving me a refresher in my long-ago-studied high school science classes. I do recommend following along with the guide, or using it as a reference guide or post-listen strategy to enhance your learning. Professor Davis is a pleasure to listen to; He obviously loves his subject!
