About this listen
One woman's struggle against the darkness of Hong Kong's drug dens.
Until it was pulled down, the Walled City was Hong Kong's most foreboding territory. It was a lawless place, dominated by the Triads, and which the police hesitated to enter. Strangers were unwelcome. Drug smuggling and heroin addiction flourished, as did prostitution and pornography, extortion and fear.
When Jackie Pullinger set sail from England in 1966 she had no idea that God was calling her to the Walled City. Yet, as she spoke of Jesus Christ, brutal Triad gangsters were converted, prostitutes quit, and Jackie discovered a new treatment for drug addiction: baptism in the Holy Spirit.

The power of Jesus
Such an amazing testimony of how by the power of Jesus, people with no hope or future and many trapped by addiction, can find healing and breakthrough. All because of the obedience of one amazing woman of the Lord.

Excellent reading of an excellent book
Absolutely inspiring story, and the woman narrating made you really think it was Jackie herself reading it. Beautiful.

Amazing truth and power
I have often picked books like this up to read only to find it hard slog to get through the jjargon and over spiritualised description and thus I dont reach the end. listening to audio has helped as Im not the best reader, but also this book is very wrll written and continues the stories within with good pace while doing much justice to the Holy Spirit, Jesus and God the Father. thank you for making this available.

Door for thought, and prayer
It’s been a long time since I read a book like this. I was refreshed by stories of Christ’s grace and mercy on the least, the last and the lost of Hong Kong. How kind he is to still draw alongside the sinners and tax collectors of our age. I’m challenged. Challenged to think re life “post-retirement” or better, after I’ve caught my breath.

Excellent book, often hard to hear
To my ears, the reader often alternates between speaking loudly and softly. This means I either have to choose a volume that is too loud for the clearly enunciated sentences, or be unable to hear several of the more softly spoken sentences.
