Publisher's Summary

CrossFit trainer Ben Bergeron has helped build the world's fittest athletes, but he's not like other coaches. He believes that greatness is not for the elite few; that winning is a result, not a goal; and that character, not talent, is what makes a true champion. His powerful philosophy can help anyone excel at all aspects of life.

Using the dramatic competition between the top contenders at the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games® as a background, Ben explores the step-by-step process of achieving excellence and the unique set of positive character traits necessary for leveling up to world-class. The mindset and methodology that have produced some of the greatest athletes in the world's most grueling sport can work equally well for golfers, lawyers, artists, entrepreneurs - anyone who's willing to commit totally to becoming better than the best.

By Chasing Excellence, you'll discover how extraordinary it's possible for you to be.

Excellent Book

I really enjoyed this and smashed it fast. The attributes described and the story make a remarkable imprint in my mind, and it really inspires me to take things to the next level with my sport and my work. It also validates my actions and the work I've been doing on myself. It is a great blueprint for success traits and character. It is truly a great book!!!! Thanks, Ben.

Not just for CrossFit enthusiasts

Ben’s advice and wisdom is so simple and yet so effective you’ll find yourself asking ‘how have I never come to that!?’ It’s not hard to follow or understand and there is something in this book for everyone. If you don’t find is useful it’s just not for you.

Awesome

What Ben says is not ground breaking, but it makes sense. We all have itnin us, we just need to know it, feel it and do the work to produce it.

Engaging and inspiring

This book was well written, taking you through the stories of two elite athletes who commit themselves entirely to the process of excellence; the process.oitlined in the book. It focuses less on competition with others and more on being the best you can be. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Genetics doesn’t create Gifted athletes, it’s earned by hard work.

Slightly to predictable in the wordings. Too much information about the nature and semantics of the events and too little about the journey. More information on training techniques and psychological fitness and training techniques might have made it a more rounded approach. Good easy read though…inspiring for me personally.

Simple but strong

Stick with it - the magic is in the last hour or so of the book and when you get there the message is still succinct and simple but at the same time very powerful

The message is powerful

I loved this book. I don’t do cross-fit but I found this book fascinating. You can use the ideas for whatever chosen field and/or everyday life. As the book talks about, it’s all about whether you are willing to put in the hard work.
If you are looking for that extra edge to propel you forward.........get this book.
