About this listen

Since its publication in 1952, Charlotte's Web has become one of America's best-loved children's books. For fifty years, this timeless tale of how a little girl named Fern, with the help of a friendly spider, saved her pig Wilbur from the usual fate of nice fat little pigs has continued to warm the hearts of readers everywhere.

Now this classic, a 1953 Newbery Honor book, comes to life in a delightful unabridged recording, read lovingly by the author himself.

It’s a classic for a reason

Wonderfully told by the author. You can hear his passion for all his characters but particularly Charlotte and Wilbur.

A truly beautiful novel

Beautifully detailed characters and plug that allows the exploration of these interpersonal relationships. The story explores themes of friendship, connection with nature and death in a frank and honest way with its audience. I love this book.

Waving goodbye with one leg

Had this read to me as a boy and cried. Read it as a grown man and cried. Waving goodbye to Charlotte with one leg. I am so glad Templeton didn't follow his nature and eat the egg sack.

Such a nice heart warming story ❤️

The first time I listened to it I cried and I told my self that I wouldn’t listen to it again but I did I am an animal lover so I felt sad wen Charlotte died but wen I listened to it again I saw the sacrifice that both Charlotte and Wilber made but I am glad that Wilber got the egg sack a story of true friendships ❤️

My childhood

I remember reading this story as a young girl, then reading it to my three daughters. Listening to the author E.B White’s narration was simply perfect. The memories and the emotions of a simpler time. Everyone should experience this book at least once in a lifetime.

Loved it

We had to get used to the heavy New York accent but loved the book and will listen to it again and again and again
