About this listen
Charlie Munger, Berkshire Hathaway's visionary vice chairman and Warren Buffett's indispensable financial partner, has outperformed market indexes again and again, and he believes any investor can do the same. His notion of "elementary, worldly wisdom" - a set of interdisciplinary mental models involving economics, business, psychology, ethics, and management - allows him to keep his emotions out of his investments and avoid the common pitfalls of bad judgment.
Munger's system has steered his investments for 40 years and has guided generations of successful investors. This book presents the essential steps of Munger's investing strategy, condensed here for the first time from interviews, speeches, writings, and shareholder letters, and paired with commentary from fund managers, value investors, and business-case historians. Derived from Ben Graham's value-investing system, Munger's approach is straightforward enough that ordinary investors can apply it to their portfolios. This book is not simply about investing. It is about cultivating mental models for your whole life, but especially for your investments.

Good summary of value investing of Buffet and Munger. Clearly communicated. Easy to follow. Would like to read it as well and make a few notes.

A bunch of quotes
Not bad but just a bunch of quotes from Charlie. Interesting enough but didn't really get into anything much, just scraped the surface.

The other side
After reading “The Warren Buffett Way” I was interesting in hearing more about Charlie.
Definitely worth the listen, would have liked to hear more about his upbringing and childhood.

Book of Quotes
Perhaps I had the wrong expectation going into this book. It is more or less a series or Munger quotes with the author elaborating a little on each. Not the comprehensive review of his investment history and thesis I was hoping for.

Get this if you only want list of Charlie's quotes
Would you try another book written by Tren Griffin or narrated by Fred Stella?
Probably not
Would you ever listen to anything by Tren Griffin again?
Probably not
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Charlie Munger?
I'll cut the thorough explanation on Graham's Intelligent Investor. I will read Graham's book if I want to know about it in details.
Any additional comments?
This book mostly contains list of quotes by Charlie Munger from various sources, followed by 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th person account about the quote. I didn't think that the writer ever interview Charlie at all. Very disappointing. If want other people's opinion or interpretation about what Charlie might say/mean, I can easily get it else where or even on the net. And I don't need the writer's interpretation about what Charlie might mean.

that it was mostly an author admiring and quoting Charlie as apposed to teaching anything of substance
