About this listen
A funny, small-town lesbian romance about clashing cultures and daring to dream big.
LA-based English indie filmmaker Alex Levitin reluctantly takes a job in New Zealand to save the "worst movie ever", Shezan: Mistress of the Forest. Things might go easier for her if she didn't almost run over the standoffish, beautiful local cop on her first day in town. And it'd really help if her film set wasn't being mysteriously sabotaged.
When Ika Whenu's Senior Constable Sam Keegan isn't trying to stamp out a motorcycle gang drug problem afflicting her town, she's publicly slamming everything about the exploitative film, Shezan, and the Hollywood blow-ins making it. That includes its nerdy, cute director, Alex, who has woeful driving skills to go with her smart mouth.
Against the stunning scenery and chaotic film-set backdrop, attraction flares between the two warring women as they're forced to work together to find the set saboteur.
Contains mature themes.

Unexpected
A much better story than I thought it would be (because us Hollywood etc), loved the characters, the plot twists and the backdrop. Having been to NZ I found the narration quite good and the dialogue authentic.
It’s a good listen. Thanks.

Original interesting and different story line with outstanding authentic narration. Claire Alain nails the characters with charm and humor. Fast paced and highly entertaining story - loved it far more than I expected to. Five stars!

NZ calling
Lee winter really captured the easy going vibe typical of many New Zealanders. This book had a mix of serious and fun content, great chemistry and sexy results. One of the best lesbian fic writers of the genre.

Highly recommend
Lee Winter always good! I really enjoyed the MCs interactions and supporting characters. Narration was great too. I always love a link between other characters from other Winter titles.

Great story in a wonderful back drop
An engaging and interesting story set in a beautifully described NZ back drop.
The narrator was excellent and handled the different accents so skilfully.
Definitely worth a read or a listen - great from beginning to end.

This was a really good read.
I'll be honest, I expected not to like this one and was completely wrong. Not only did I listen to the entire thing, I did so eagerly awaiting what happened next. I enjoyed the storyline, backdrop, characters and the link to 'Breaking Character'. Well narrated and a good listen.
