About this listen
The modern day youth sports environment has taken the enjoyment out of athletics for our children. Currently, 70% of kids drop out of organized sports by the age of 13, which has given rise to a generation of overweight, unhealthy young adults. There is a solution. John O'Sullivan shares the secrets of the coaches and parents who have not only raised elite athletes, but have done so by creating an environment that promotes positive core values and teaches life lessons instead of focusing on wins and losses, scholarships, and professional aspirations. Changing the Game gives adults a new paradigm and a game plan for raising happy, high performing children, and provides a national call to action to return youth sports to our kids.

Very helpful
As a parent of a 9 year old son who's in love with golf, listening to this book helped me a lot as it reminds me of the things I should watch out for. I think we too often forget why children start playing sports in the first place, which is to have fun. I am not a pushy parent but I have been involved in my son's development a tad too much and have come to the realisation that it's not healthy to do so. For me the one key takeaway is to let our children enjoy sports and not get in their way.

Excellent overview with research backed points
Loved this book, almost all points covered are backed by research and/or practical examples from real life coaching experiences. My introduction to LTAD was worth the price of the book alone. Am recommending to all my parent friends, so glad I found this book before my children got too far down their sporting experience. Also highly recommend the accompanying podcast "Way of Champions".
