About this listen

Each book in this series represents a different month of the school year and during each month Cat, a 12-year-old 4th grader, takes on a different cat-sitting job. At the same time, each month Cat's teacher teaches the class a different poetry style. The listeners will learn this poetry process as well while hearing the story.

In this charming first book, Cat is asked to watch a neighbor's Siamese cat named Percy. Percy is usually the most perfectly behaved cat, but while on duty, Cat notices that Percy is not acting like himself and the destruction he leaves behind makes Cat wonder if she will ever get any mercy. In this book Cat and the listener learn to write a Haiku poem.
