Another Zinger of a story from Anya!

Great storytelling and fabulous duo narration on this gem from the talented Anya Merchant. The creativity is off the scales, the plot intriguing and the characters vivid. Such great dialogue and more than a few steamy taboo moments to raise the listeners heart-rate. The thing I love most is how this story keeps defying my expectations, just when I think I know where it is going, the plot twists and I am left guessing all over again. Dynamite wordsmithing here!

Really good fantasy

So right off the bat, the performers are great but quite frequently the sound quality dips and they sound like they're talking talking into a tin can.

Story progresses quite well, but it can get annoying when the characters seem to be... slow in the head. You get attacked so that's when you should lower your guard? Logic there. And how does participating in an event surrounded by people who hold you in little regard after an assassination attempt no less how does that count as "safe"? It's jarring at times.

But on the big plus side I never felt immersion break - there's never an odd reference that brings you out of the story when you're in it. So this audiobook is really easy to enjoy.
