About this listen

For over a decade Tobas has been a renowned guard in Valleytown, loved by villagers and fellow guards alike. Everything seems to be going great for him—especially when he finds out he’s been chosen to receive the promotion of his dreams. A ceremony is held in Tobas’ honor, declaring him the new captain of the town guards as the mantle is passed down from the old captain and his mentor, Jastur.

After discreetly exiting the crowd for a few drinks at the local tavern, Tobas pays Jastur a visit at home to thank him personally. Inside Jastur’s home, however, Tobas finds him lifeless on the floor, nightclothes stained with blood. Before Tobas can get help, Jastur’s nephew walks in and Tobas becomes the prime suspect in his old friend’s murder, forcing the fallen captain to go on the run until he can prove his innocence and find Jastur’s true killer.
