Publisher's Summary
The first in a new action series from a television star, ex-SAS solider, body guard to the stars and best-selling nonfiction author.
The first in a brand-new series from SAS: Who Dares Wins star.
A country in turmoil.
A rescue mission gone wrong.
A hero unlike any other fighting to save a broken world.
Matt 'Mace' Mason is deployed on a deniable SAS mission in war-torn Yemen, becoming embroiled in a hostage rescue that goes terribly wrong.
Pulling at the strings of the local political scene is not only the local warlord who is destined to become Mace's nemesis, General Ruak Shahlai, but hardbitten American arms dealer Erica Atkins, who controls a whole international network to her advantage.
As well as his own team, Mace has to work, initially unwillingly, with female CIA Agent (and Islamic scholar) Redford. Together they will need to prevent an attack that would spark a regional war and create the largest environmental disaster the world has ever seen.
Don't miss the first in the new Mace Mason series from an author who has been there and done it all, Billy Billingham.
About the Author:
Billy Billingham spent 17 years in the SAS. He was responsible for planning and executing strategic operations and training at the highest level in locations including Iraq, Afghanistan, South America and Africa, and has led countless hostage rescues. He later became a bodyguard to A-list celebrities, such as Brad Pitt, Sir Michael Caine and Tom Cruise. Since 2015, Billy has been one of the lead presenters on the popular Channel Four series SAS: Who Dares Wins. Of the lead line-up, he is the only one with a genuine SAS career.

Mace is awesome
Awesome realism and became very realistic. Loved it, much better than a lot of the American black ops books

Its different, but so good
I loved how the story was somewhat different to most 'fictional' war / Army stories. Its meaty and very full on. I loved the inclusion of the dominant female protagonists and the wide variety of characters.
For Mr Mark's first novel, its pretty awesome!
Well done mate and anyone reading this - buy it! Narration is good, storyline is good and great to listen to, when you want to get lost in a good story.

Very Believable
I do like the storytelling and the crew. The author is outstanding the more books he writes. Being a military family we Do understand.

Call to kill! Wow
Having seen billy in person and hearing his story live on stage you can literally see him in action as you listen to this extraordinary non stop action blood sweat and tears rollercoaster ride of a story.
Any terrorists dreaming of taking on Matt “mase”Mason should wake up and apologise or HIDE!

Very surprising
I’ve never read a book by a ghost writer (I assume that’s what happened here and why the two authors). I wasn’t sure how good one could be but this guy is pretty impressive.
The only negative is that the narrator can NOT do women’s voices. Maybe that changes later in the book but almost no attempt is really made to sound feminine.
Anyway, it’s a great story with amazing insight into the thought processes of the truly intelligent.
This could easily be converted to a really good fantasy story too. I’d love to see Billy venture into fantasy with the assistance of a good fantasy author. Absolutely love the combination of these two.

Not what it says on the tin
I am a big fan of Billy Billingham, & relished his autobiography The Hard Way.
However this book seems to have been written entirely by co-author Conor Woodman, with Billy's voice limited to 'military advisor'. It's an average thriller which just couldn't hold my attention. This book may appeal to a different audience. I suspect that like me Billy's fans will be disappointed.
