About this listen

When Zara awoke to find Valerius, leader of the legendary Gilded Knights, towering over her, she thought she'd gone mad.

She was the Fury, mistress of claw and flame—armies trembled at her name! Now she lay chained and broken, a prisoner in her own home.

But that wasn't why she thought herself mad.

Only yesterday, she remembered a different life. She remembered her nephew in the local arcade, struggling to beat the villainous Zara the Fury in Knights of Eternity. She remembered her uncle and his big booming laugh...

…and she remembered the gun that changed everything.

A gripping story with a stellar performance

The first book in the new Knights of Eternity saga had me hooked from start to finish!
Rachel Ni Chuirc's debut novel shows off fantastic prose and tone throughout, as she delivers an enthralling story of intrigue, deceit, power, drama, love, and video games.

Andrea Parsneau was a perfect fit to narrate this tale, as her range of voices, accents, and tones makes this reading feel like a fully fledged audio drama - you'll forget that you're listening to just one person doing all the voices!

The only gripe with the book that I have is the ending, and that is purely because I want to know what happens next! I can't wait to read Book 2 when it arrives in August, and I'll be waiting for it with anticipation (and many fan theories)!

Awesome new author unlocked

I heard about this book as the author worked on Baldurs Gate 3, which peaked my interest and I'm so glad I heard of it because it was an awesome read, with excellent narration. I hadn't heard of the LitRPG genre and am delighted to have had such an awesome engaging introduction to it. Action, suspense, engaging characters, an interesting plot, humour and video game mechanics all come together to make a gripping page turner that you won't regret reading if you have an interest in great writing and video games. And again, the narration is also very well done and I'm eagerly awaiting the next instalment!

The book art I so pretty

I finished the book and is probably going to listen to the next one. …But I’m not sure what the point of this book was. There is a background “mother” character that has more character development than any of the main characters. She has a character arc and has grown/changed.

This book is kinda just a “set up” book. It introduces a lot of characters and questions and things to be resolved. And then the book ends.
Feels like half of a book
