About this listen
It may be cold outside, but inside, the temperature is rising. When grad student Kevin Taggert goes home with his best friend for Thanksgiving, the last thing he expects is to drool over the guy’s dad. Forty-eight-year-old Drew Freeman would love a relationship, but he never expected to find it with his son’s best friend.
When a last-minute change of plans leaves Drew and Kevin alone in a cabin the week before Christmas, the heat between them is too much to deny. Although they promise it’ll only last the week, every day that passes brings them closer together. When Christmas Day arrives - along with Drew’s son - can they salvage the relationship and the holiday?

Anticipation of pleasure is a pleasure in itself!
Jason places his dad, Drew Freeman, and Jason’s best friend, Kevin Taggert, in an awkward position when he basically abandons them at Drew’s cabin to spend time with his on-again/off-again girlfriend over the Thanksgiving weekend. Despite the 24-year age gap and being strangers, Drew and Kevin develop a firm friendship with enough sexual tension to power a small country. When Jason pulls the same stunt over Christmas, Drew and Kevin can feel their resolve crumble. First, I just have to say I wanted to punch Jason for most of the book, his actions and reactions were so self-centred. I liked lots of things about this: Drew and Kevin were thoroughly decent, well-fleshed out characters with solid backstories; the anticipation of Drew and Kevin eventually kicking over the traces was delicious; and their interactive dialogue was sweet. On the downside, I did feel things got overly schmaltzy after the denouement and while I enjoyed audio narrator James Edward Jones’ overall performance, I found him a little flat between the sheets.

A fulfilling and delightful story
Rarely do I gasp, swoon and throb along with characters, but Brigham Vaughn brings aaaallll the sexual tension and delightful feels in the knuckle-biting, heat-filled, sexy holiday read – Cabin Fever.
Kevin tags along with his long-time roommate (and best friend) to go home for the Thanksgiving holiday where he finally meets Jason’s dad, Drew, before Jason ditches them both to spend time with his long-distance girlfriend. Drew and Kevin connect easily and find themselves enjoying their time together. Kevin can’t help his attraction to the older man and it seems the pull isn’t one-sided when flirting is returned.
One stolen kiss is shared before Kevin returns to College. But phone numbers are exchanged and their connection builds through daily messages, before family arrangements are changed at the last minute and Kevin finds himself, once again, alone with Drew for Christmas.
Amazing chemistry leaps off the page and words sizzle in the reader’s mind. Cabin Fever is brilliantly written and completely absorbing. I fell in love with both characters so easily and adored their journey, even when the book made me cry!
Brigham Vaughn has written a scorching hot winter tale in Cabin Fever, with all the best bits of a gay romance: sexual tension, steamy scenes, sweet love and an adorable HEA. If you only read one holiday story this year, you won’t regret making it this one!
