Editorial reviews

Humphrey Bower and Odette Joannidis offer assured, crisp performances in The CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, developed with Australia's national science agency and used by over 800,000 men and women down under.

Manny Noakes and Peter Clifton authored this diet, which has been tested on clinical trials, and serves up nutritionally balanced, high-protein meals as a solution to weight loss and includes 85 recipes and 12 weeks of meal plans. Unlike other high-protein diets, the varied recipes in this audio book avoid high-fat meats and embrace food with hunger-curbing carbohydrates. Noakes and Clifton take pains to explain the scientific reasoning behind their meal choices.

Cheery and engaged, Bower and Joannidis sound like Australian morning news anchors in their alternating performances.

Critic Reviews

"If you're serious about losing weight and staying healthy, check out the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet ... more a way of living than an exercise in deprivation." (The Herald Sun)
"The diet developed by Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization is the basis for this first CSIRO diet book and its sequel, which benefited from the feedback of thousands of dieters. Besides the overview of metabolism, nutrition, and food selection, the audio discusses important medical issues such as diabetes, brain functioning, and bone density. This combination of careful research, structured recommendations, and feedback from real people works well, especially as presented by the two friendly narrators." (AudioFile Magazine)

where's the pdf?

Really needs an index and diagrams/lists. impossible to find things you want to reread for clarification.

Needs a PDF to help follow all the details.

This book is like attending a chemistry lecture, lots of numbers and detail that's hard to absorb via audio only.

Too many specifics without any PDF docs to refer to make absorbing the information quite hard. You really need to listen with a pen and paper in hand and take notes to get the value of this book.

Buy the hard copy instead.

Does it Work?

Does it Work?
Well, I can honestly say it does work.
My wife and I have both lost weight and improved our health, not just from the books but also from the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet website in conjunction with readings to improve and gain a better understanding.
You won't be hungry, and you won't feel like you are missing out, but you will lose weight and gain health.
This is not a fad approach it's a life improvement approach.
If we can do it, so can you. The results will speak for themselves if you follow the plan as best as you can.
Good luck, you've got this.
