About this listen

When did busy become a badge of honour?

In 10 on-the-couch sessions, New Zealand clinical psychologist Karen Nimmo diagnoses, explains and treats Busy as F*ck syndrome, the condition that's consuming us all, whether we realize it or not.

If we are going to squeeze the most from ourselves and our all-too-short lives, we need to be able to gauge when our Busy as F*ckness is compromising (or drip-feed destroying) our physical and emotional health, when we're hurting people we love, and when we're becoming that person others want to hide from.

In this audiobook you'll meet people who are facing the problems most commonly reported in our Busy as F*ck worlds. Some will resonate with you - or you'll spot traits of people you know. Whenever you get an "aha" moment, you'll find tips, tools, and tactics to guide your own journey.

like chatting with an old friend

I really enjoyed this book. listening felt like chatting with an old friend with incredible wisdom. I loved the delivery of this book and how it included specific stories and examples which showed a snapshot into the lives of Karens work and patients over her years of work. Also as I too work with people in despair and suffering, this book showed insight into the toll it takes on the professional supporting and guiding them through their challenging time. I have just purchased a second book by Karen Nimmo.

Some good insights from a Clinical Psychologist

Some good insights from a Clinical Psychologist, but probably not worth your time if you are actually busy as f*ck. It reads like Karren Nimmo wrote her memoirs and reflections on a career spent in Clinical Psychology, tried to get it published and had the misfortune of of finding a publishing agent with about as much originality as a salt shaker who jumped on the as f*ck train and made changes to the book to make it fit the fad worthy title. A more accurate title might be "Moderately interesting insights from working as a Clinical Psychologist with troubled professional sports people and others"
