Publisher's Summary

On a rugged Colorado mountain ridge, Mattie Cobb and her police-dog partner, Robo, make a grisly discovery - and become the targets of a ruthless killer.

Colorado's Redstone Ridge is a place of extraordinary beauty, but this rugged mountain wilderness harbors a horrifying secret. When a charred body is discovered in a shallow grave on the ridge, officer Mattie Cobb and her K-9 partner, Robo, are called in to spearhead the investigation. But this is no ordinary crime - and it soon becomes clear Mattie has a close personal connection to the dead man.

Joined by local veterinarian, Cole Walker, the pair scours the mountaintop for evidence and makes another gruesome discovery: the skeletonized remains of two adults and a child. And then, the unthinkable happens. Could Mattie become the next victim in the murderer's deadly game?

A deranged killer torments Mattie with a litany of dark secrets that call into question her very identity. As a towering blaze races across the ridge, Cole and Robo search desperately for her - but time is running out.

Gripping! Maddy is such a gutsy heroine.

Fits perfectly in place in this Tobo series. A bit of everything including Maddy seeing the light! Plenty of drama, murder and suspense. As always enjoyable to the max.

My Favourite New Author

Gripping mysteries with engaging characters (both human and canine) set in superbly immersive location descriptions. The talented narrator builds the tension and excitement in this hard to put down series. Maddie and Robo would be a fabulous TV series!

Brilliant

Another brilliant tale.. mystery and adventure. I love every one of these K9 stories. Not too heavy, just the right amount of suspense, twists and turns and a little low key romance.
Perfect!

great light audio, probably off the hook now!

Another enjoyable tale, but although I was initially hooked I am off the hook now and with no compelling reason to finish the series as it is indeed becoming formulaic, which should be no surprise given Margaret's use of the Enneagram (see her website) for character creation, albeit skillful and effective. Criticism may sound churlish but it is a competitive world for securing reader time!
