Publisher's Summary
A classic fairy tale gets a sexy, edgy twist.
Jackson “The Beast” Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick’s New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fund-raiser, Bianca can’t refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother’s medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum - money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract - and a stunning ring.
The heir to a family bourbon dynasty, Jackson knows the rumors swirling around him. The truth is even darker. Still, he needs a wife to secure his inheritance, and free-spirited, sassy Bianca would play the part beautifully. Soon, though, their simple business deal evolves into an emotional intimacy he’s built walls to avoid.
As the passion heats up between them, Bianca and Jackson struggle to define which feelings are real and which are for show. Is falling for your fake fiancé the best happy ending...or a recipe for disaster?

Brilliance!!
While Sebastian York is always great, Diana Luke really stole the show with this one! JT always does fantastic work but the narration here was perfect, combined with the entertaining southernisms, delicious! Bon Appétit!

A Gem
The American southern drawl does not excite my listening, but this book was so funny, I soon overlooked it.
Bianca was a feisty heroine.
Jackson was a misunderstood rich man, who had been traumatised for much of his life. He blamed himself for things that were out of his control.
The idioms and sayings were so apt and funny, that I found myself laughing many times.
Once Bianca and Jackson came together, she found out his past from him, and she set about clearing up mistakes and protecting Jackson.

Nice....!
Bit of a 'same, same ole' storyline but well written by the author but taken to another level by the narrators. Loved the metaphors..!

Another wonderful story by JT Geissinger!
I was hesitate at first as a poorly done accent can really impact negatively on a story. However, Diana & Sebastian narrated the story with class & wit. I loved the characters & their individualism. I loved the storyline & the sweet ending that wasn’t ott & ridiculous. I loved the charm & charisma that was portrayed amongst the self doubt & introspection. Great book.

Give me more
loved the story. the narration was excellent once you get used to southern accent. had read some reviews that didn't like the female accent. I found once you get used to it that it works well. first time for me for this author but now I'm looking for more.

a modern-day grumpy Mr. Darcy
I read the book and listened to the audiobook.
The accent of the female narrator caught me off guard but added that little bit of an emphasis on the New Orleans location setting.
There were quite a few unexpected turns in the book, which I can't remember reading TWs about, so I'll put them here as an FYI (spoilers ahead):
- Suicide attempt
- Cancer/treatment
- Death
- Stroke (Heart attack)
- intellectual disability in a child
So much of Bianca's story with her mother hit home for me, which made this book quite raw for me in a way. But it was ultimately a sweet story of two extremely stubborn people who fell in love somewhere between their heated arguments and longing stares.
I enjoyed Bianca's no-nonsense approach to speaking her mind and encouraging the same in the people around her.
All in all, the book was a breath of fresh air.
