Publisher's Summary
The seventh novel in Julia Quinn's globally beloved and best-selling Bridgerton Family series, set in Regency times and now a series created by Shondaland for Netflix. This is Hyacinth's story: she's all grown up and ready to cause havoc.....
All the ton agree: there is no one quite like Hyacinth Bridgerton. Fiendishly smart, devilishly outspoken and - according to some, particularly Gareth St. Clair - probably best in small doses. But there's something about her - something charming and vexing - that grabs one and won't quite let go.
Gareth and Hyacinth cross paths at the annual - and annually discordant - Smythe-Smith musicale. To Hyacinth, Gareth's every word seems a dare, and she offers to help him out with a knotty inheritance problem he's facing. However, as they delve into the mysterious St Clair history, they discover that the answers they seek lie not in the past - but in each other; and that there is nothing as simple - or as complicated - as a single, perfect kiss.
Critic Reviews
"Julia Quinn's Bridgerton books take all of the classic tropes we know and love...and gives them a thoroughly modern twist. I can't focus on anything else." (Stylist)

romance and adventure
loved the air of mystery and adventure in this book, a nice little spin. Even though I know they will all live happily ever after I have to keep reading them all as they each have great surprises and differences

Intrigue, purpose & romance
Possibly my favourite one of the series so far. I was concerned it may be a little too similar to the previous six, however this chapter of the infamous family was delightful, a hint of mystery and seductive. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book in my favourite in the Bridgerton series. I highly recommend. Rosalyn landor (the narrator) of the series, knows how to bring the characters to life and has such a good engaging voice.

It’s in his kiss
As good as all the rest but different, which was a nice change. A little more heavy handed on the intimate scenes than the other books, but great as a ‘getting closer to the end of the series’ book. The ending was good but shame it too so long to get there. I would like to have seen Gareth’s father get more comeuppance with a certain discovery of wealth having been made much earlier in the book, and maybe have it discovered that he was the one who was actually illegitimate after his disdainful treatment of Gareth, but that’s my diabolical, revengeful nature coming out there. The book ended perfectly respectably, and as it should have...

The search
I enjoyed this story. Narration is always great and easy to listen to. But it is not my favourite Julia Quinn book due to the long and tedious search for missing jewellery. The development between the main characters became lost in the endless searching of jewellery and I found those sections boring.

The ending was perfect
I loved the detective subplot in this story. I loved the ending, especially with the extra prequel pearler! And, I loved the relationship explored between the equally authentic Lady Danbury and Hyacinth.

Couldn’t stop listening!!
I absolutely loved this book! I’ve listened to almost all the books in the Bridgerton series and this has to be one of my favourites—it was funny and heart warming. I had lots of laugh out loud moments while listening to this book! I must have finished this book within about 2 days because I wanted to know what happened next.
