Publisher's Summary

From the author of Mountain Man: Encounter a new breed of fear in the first book of a bloodcurdling werewolf horror series set in the snows of Newfoundland.

In a nearly deserted village off the coast of Canada, strange things are happening. A local hunter discovers bare footprints in the snow. The stray dog population has ceased to exist. And people are beginning to ask questions about the town’s recluse.

But with winter’s most powerful weapon bearing down on the island, it’s about to get a lot worse . . .

Breeds is the first book in a trilogy of terror sure to please fans of Robert R. McCammon, Maggie Stiefvater, and Chase Novak.

Make. It. A. Movie.

Could not put it down. I very much enjoyed the story, working in some new ideas to essentially a story we all know the contents of before we read it. For me, the no-holds barred writing style spoke true for the characters and I found myself engaged in the locals as much as waiting to get to the next chapter and experience another brutal display of ancient power.
This is the escapism I live for 😀

Exceotional

I thought this story was going to be so so, it doesn't kick in until chapter 10, then it goes off like a rocket, it is an exceptional listen. Keith C. Blackimore's stories are soooooo good, check out Mountain Man series and in particular his 131 Days stories it does not get better than that. I'm off to Breeds book 2, I'm hooked.

Werewolves

really liked it. was hooked from beginning to end. There is also a lot of humor which made me laugh out loud. The characters are great and the gory scenes are bloody but not off putting. Ok, just downloaded the second one got to go.

Gripping stuff

I don't normally do this genre of book, but the supernatural themes seem to beckon. The authors' crafting of the scenery and characters in vivid detail and the dialogue turn of phrase, whilst very course at times, being me from edge do your seat to out loud chuckle, all in the space of a minute or so. If you don't mind raw bloody violence and salty language, give it a go.

Always refreshing

As always with this author, very raw accounts of humanity done with fantastic humour, insight, and holding back no punches. Love it. It’s how I would write. Quirky story probably based on the “what if” thought meanderings over a few drinks I feel. Not for everyone if you’re sensitive to naughty words as appears in other “reviews”. For everyone else, it’s fun.

Brilliant

Great story, would easily equal Dog Soldiers if they ever make a movie adaptation from this excellent book

A really good book

I wouldn't normally go for a werewolf book, but I like this author, so I gave it a go. I'm glad I did. This book takes the classic werewolf story in a new direction. Loved it. :)

Great story, fleshed out characters who die, a lot

Really great tension, action, and scenery. Great stand alone book but also easily sets up the series. Easy listening.

An excellent surprise

I’ve never been interested in werewolves but this was an excellent, entertaining, gruesome and fun experience. The author makes you want to pack up to Canada while at the same time provides some great jumps and laughs in what is the most fun I’ve had with a horror book in an age. Recomend.
