Publisher's Summary
At 24, life was good for Georgie Dent. After graduating with top marks she landed her dream job at a prestigious Sydney law firm and moved in with a boyfriend she adored. She had the world at her feet and no right to break. But she did. Badly. Within a year Georgie was unemployed, back living with her parents and suffering such crippling anxiety that she ended up in a psychiatric hospital.
Breaking Badly is the story of a nervous breakdown in slow motion, a life that fell apart and what it took to put it back together again. Brutally honest and warmly engaging, it's a must-listen for anyone who sometimes feels close to the edge.

Absolutely what I needed to hear
This book and the struggles within whilst different to my own, still help me to understand my own situation and circumstances better. Thank you for writing this.

Raw and inspiring. A book of hope.
Truthfully raw and inspiring. I shed tears and felt hope! I learnt so much about myself through your experience and now feel clearer and able to support family members who also suffer from periods of anxiety. Thank you Georgie.

Mental health does not discriminate!
This is a very personal depiction of experiencing mental health and mental health crisis from a privileged perspective. I thought it was really well written, offered experience and advice, and covered varying stages of life from student to employment to parent. However a lot of the solutions were not as easily accessible to most people who experience mental health issues. Some do not, for example, have the luxury of not working for months or more, are able to access child care no matter the cost, or have a supportive partner to see it through from start to finish. I’m glad for the author that she had those supports and as a result was able to so fluently tell her story. It must have been hard to write, and even harder to live. It was also encouraging at another level to hear someone successful or ‘at the top’ can also struggle - a reminder mental health does not discriminate.
