About this listen

Graham Peck had his life planned out. Serve in the Coast Guard like the rest of his family. See the world. But an innocent New Year’s kiss - with another man - leads to a vicious attack that forces him back into civilian life. A life he has no idea how to navigate.

Until he hooks up with a group of deadly, battle-worn soldiers. They don’t care who he loves - as long as he stays on mission.

Quinton Silver can’t make it down his front steps. Not since the man who was supposed to love him turned out to be a monster. Inside, hiding under an assumed name in a city halfway across the country from his deranged lover, he’s safe. Even if he is alone.

Desperation leads to a chance meeting, and while Graham and Quinton have every reason not to trust one another, they’re drawn together by an unstoppable force neither can control.

Can they heal one another? Or will one wrong move lead Q’s stalker right to his door?

Braving His Past is book 8 in the award-winning Away from Keyboard series. This M/M romance features some sensitive themes, including recovery from sexual assault. While characters from other books in the series make appearances in this book, it can be read as a stand-alone.

yay another one from this series so excited

just love Patricia d Eddy as I have express many times before.
I've read different series from her and although she can get quite complicated and create complex dialogues and subplots the away from the keyboard series is just plain drama angst and sexy Romance. I just love the kick-ass girls and the way these huge Alpha men can respect love and walk beside them not in front of them. I I was wary of going into a MM story and trusted Patricia not to put me off as it's the first time I've read this type of story. I'm happy to report she wrote this book with sensitivity and a not too in your face approach. Loved the narrator's it was good to see Q's voice was a little softer as it matched perfectly with the way Patricia had portrayed him.
Graeme on the other hand had to have a slightly stronger voice due to the fact that he's working with "hidden agenda"
really enjoyed that there may be a new character coming into the team and looking forward to reading her story.
I understand there is an offshoot to this series with Austin and book one is out but book two is still in the works however I can't stop now.
happy reading if you enjoyed the previous books and if you haven't then it would be an advantage to read them there are some really gut-wrenching novels in there so there may be trigger points but you are warned about those by the author in her dust cover.
Patricia has a way of taking some sensitive topics and not abusing the right and respect they deserve.
