About this listen
Kelli MacCabe is a no-nonsense detective with a tough exterior. Only a select few know her as a loyal, loving friend. Committed to her family, her friends, and her job, Kelli puts her needs behind everyone else's.
As a surgeon, Nora Whitmore is used to being in control. The hospital is her life and leaves room for little else. Respected by her colleagues, but misunderstood by the residents, Nora takes what she needs and keeps everyone at arm's length. In the process, she creates unexpected enemies.
Tragedy brings them together. As chaos grows around them, the lines between them begin to blur. Despite being from different worlds, friendship grows between them, turning quickly to attraction. Will these two strong, independent women find a way to deal with their individual baggage? Or will they be overcome by it?

well done ladies
loved the story, loved the characters, Sarah Grant did an awesome job of interpreting KD's characters and bringing it all together for an amazing read. I loved the leading ladies witty and charming banter and the slow burn that roared to a scorching heat. A must read.

Enjoyed the sexual tension
In short worth a listen familiar storyline with some well written sexual tension. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters and their complexities.

maybe better to read than to listen
This one was a bit frustrating to listen to. I actually thought something was wrong with my phone with the abrupt stopping at section breaks in chapters and then the resumption of audio which didn't seem to flow, after listening for a couple of hours I just ended up a bit cranky.
I didn't feel like the narrator nailed the characters, it felt like very matter of fact reading rather than the reading of a story.
I had no problems with the story, it was a good idea... was just the narration on this one that got me.

Hmmm
The characters were well formed. Each and every one of them. The banter was fluid, natural and entertaining too. The ice queen in the story was very well frozen. I actually loved how she handled her sex life. She knew what she wanted, took what she needed and that was that. Unapologetic to the core. That’s Top energy in its finest!
The uncertainty towards committing to a relationship took longer than necessary in my opinion. At least three chapters could have been saved if the author shortened the length of hesitation. However, all in all it was a good read. Entertaining and left me with mostly a positive feeling.
Loved the raspy voice of the narrator Sarah Grant too
