About this listen

Reborn in a forest of flames. Surrounded by monsters. He must master the System to survive.

In his past life, Dollar was an unparalleled mind forged by the flames of tribulation. He'd built his wealth and influence from nothing and never looked back.

But after dying and reincarnating into the world of Ioa, he is thrust into poverty and trapped in a forest of flames with nothing but a decrepit wooden hut to protect him.

With family out to kill him, an army of monsters surrounding him, and omnipotent gods sent to assassinate him, Dollar finds that in this new world, success is defined by adversity.

He's climbed his way up from rock bottom once, and he refuses to stay there again.

Knowing he will need his wits and more to survive, he learns the art of rune crafting and gains access to a System. From there, he'll begin his ascent. With the power to craft infinite effects and mold existence itself, nothing will stand in his way.

With the entire world stacked against him, Dollar has them right where he wants them...

Don't miss the next action-packed, reincarnation isekai LitRPG series from ThinkTwice, the bestselling author of Mark of the Crijik. Join an unexpected protagonist in the fight for his life as he progresses in power, masters the System, learns magical abilities, and discovers what's really important in life.

fairly interesting magic system and world building

the character evolution is pretty evolved not just a 2 dimensional cookie cutter mc. stories really very good lots of points were I was like wait what just excellent flow with out being overly predictable.

but that last chapter HFS I did not see that coming compleatly reframed one characters development can't wait for the next book

Good book.

I enjoyed listening to this at the start. I sort of wanted his first world to continue but the isekai happened so yeah.

good things: nice world building, good system. enjoyable than most litrpg. it has maturity in it that some litrpg books try to emulate. it has a structured plot and good enough characters to keep things interesting

bad things:

-scenes are moving consistently, but glaringly slow at action scenes to the point that theres more conversation than action. i skipped some chapters because the scenes were so slow.

-half of the book is about training so be prepared if you dont enjoy that.

-for 22 hours, i feel like the overall plot keeps going from one thing to the next, keeps you guessing in the middle but at the end, the execution came off bad.

-technical grammar was bad as i hear POV changing as the narrator talks. a few errors as well.

personal preference: im a bit confused with the mc, one moment he's heartless and cold, but another moment, he's trying to be a hero. i know theres personal development in stories like this, but the personality shifts are too abrupt.

overalls: good read. enjoyed it. but not enough to get me to buy book 2
