About this listen
You can't drown the dead.
When the brutally murdered body of a local geography teacher is discovered at Kilwinnoch’s famous beauty spot, Blood Water Falls, the community is rocked to its core. For DCI Duncan Bone, the killing appears to be an open and shut case. But it’s not long before a sinister clue unleashes dark and deadly forces, blowing the investigation wide open, and putting Bone and his team in grave danger.
With the town baying for blood, and too many suspects and not enough answers, DCI Bone faces not only the toughest case of his career, but the battle of his life to defeat the psychological demons determined to destroy him once and for all.
Set among the dramatic hills and glens of Scotland's Campsie Fells, Blood Water Falls is the second in a series of edge-of-your-seat crime thrillers that will keep you guessing right up to the nail-biting, heart-stopping climax.
Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, J.D. Kirk, Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride.

Another great story___
Well just finished listening to the second book by Mr, T.G, Reid Esquire and another so many hours time very well spent, l loved the setting and the information and descriptions of the beautiful Osprey birds, the conservation as an underlying theme. Scotland is the most beautiful country in the world and the descriptions of the places and scenery very accurate and informative for those who have little knowledge of the country.
The narration, by a different narrator this time was, of course, excellent and brings the story to those who listen. The storyline continues with the differences between DCI Bone and his wife which l feel rather sad about. We all love happy endings of course but that's not always how life is.
The constant battles between the detective and those in higher command continue, and though enraged at times by his unique style of policing, they are very much aware he gets the job done and brings the criminals to justice one way or another.
The reality of Scottish life, the harsh weather at times, the sheer beauty of the land and the the stories of the characters themselves all come together through the talents of this wonderful author provide those who read or listen with many wonderful hours of pleasure.
Once again, thank you to Mr.T.G.Reid Esquire…

A good listen.
Found this a good police / crime narrative. The main character is quite flawed but who isn’t. His demons are plausible and do impact his judgements at times. Will read another in the series.

A let down after the promise of Book 1
I enjoyed Book 1 so went on to this book. It was a disappointment. Whilst DCI Bone was likeable in the first book, he was a much less attractive character in the follow-up, and the investigation he conducted was a train wreck from start to finish. In the end, the police contributed nothing to the resolution of the crimes - that was all down to a civilian character who told Bone who was responsible. The motive for the crimes was just silly, and very hard to take seriously
I suppose the foolish decisions made by Bone were intended to be a manifestation of PTSD, but no-one with symptoms so severe they included visual and auditory hallucinations would ever be regarded as fit for return for duty as a detective, so it was all pretty unbelievable.
The family law situation was irritating too. DCI Bone’s estranged wife is an unpleasant character, and it’s just not credible that he would accept she had the authority or power to dictate the terms on which he could see his son. A small thing, but annoying.
Still worth seeing if things improve in Book 3, but the series may not be worth the credits if Book 2 is the standard.
Steve Worsley did a great job as narrator, despite the material he had to work with.

disappointing
Boring and dragged on. Narration was very average to say the least. Main character was annoying can understand why his wife left him. Would not recommend.
