Great story marred by mispronunciation
The spell is broken when the narrator doesn't get it right.
Esme is pronounced Ez-may
Hieronymous is pronounced Hy-ron-ee-muss
and while we are at it, feral is pronounced feh-rall (not fear ... all)
My other gripe is Jane needs to stop with the self blame game. At the rate she is going, the next time a butterfly breaks wind and causes a cyclone, Jane will grab that guilt too.
Otherwise, a gripping female lead and throat ripping yarns.
