About this listen
Vicki Nelson, formerly of Toronto’s homicide unit and now a private detective, witnesses the first of many vicious attacks that begin plaguing the city of Toronto. As death follows unspeakable death, Vicki, in an attempt to stop these forces of dark magic, is forced to renew her tempestuous relationship with her former partner, Mike Celluci - along with another, unexpected ally…. Henry Fitzroy, the illegitimate son of King Henry VIII, has learned over the course of his long life how to blend with humans; how to deny the call for blood in his veins. Without him, Vicki and Mike would not survive the ancient force of chaos that has been unleashed upon the world - but in doing so, his identity may be exposed, and his life forfeited.

Good story
Some suspense, some laughs, good story. Similar to the tv show but different. A lot more to the story. Can’t wait to listen to more.

A Bloody Good Start.
Huge fan of the campy tv show that was based on the book, so excited to finally read the books.
Great story involving vampires, demons, college students, cops & a blinding P.I. Vicki Nelson is hired to find the 'vampire' killer but the frustrated victims girlfriend & ends up running into a real vampire & end up teaming up to stop the real killer. Vicki is a force to be reckoned with & seems to form an easy friendship with Henry Fiztroy. I really enjoyed this story, was a great start to the series & can't wait to get the next addition.
I enjoy Justine Eyre as a narrator. Have listened to a few of her books & don't understand all the negative views people have put for this book.

Narrator killed this story
Narrator was terrible. Got to the end but was hard listening and authors work was poorly represented
